Public and private institutions in the energy sector will benefit from capacity building on leadership, gender equality and social inclusion issues.

This is an activity carried out under the BRILHO programme implemented by SNV, with funding from the Governments of the United Kingdom and Sweden and delivered by MUVA, through workshops, webinar and orientation sessions in the areas of leadership, gender equality and social inclusion, women's empowerment, networking and mentoring.

To this end, the course which will extend nine months was launched yesterday (13/07) in Maputo, with the participation of trainees from the Ministério de Recursos Minerais e Energias (MIREME), Autoridade Reguladora de Energia (ARENE), Fundo Nacional de Energia (FUNAE), Moz Carbon, Community Carbon, Solar Works and Epsilon Energia Solar, trainers and BRILHO programme team.

With a duration of nine months, SNV through the BRILHO programme with this training aims to strengthen the capacity of key institutions in the sector to create and implement an enabling and inclusive environment in terms of gender and business models to meet the needs of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people.

This was designed by SNV as part of ongoing activities within the scope of Political Reform and Institutional Strengthening aiming to strengthening the capacity of institutions in the energy sector to create a gender-sensitive, inclusive and conducive environment for the implementation of business models that tackle the needs of vulnerable people and increase the representation of women in the energy sector value chain.
