BRILHO Participates in the 8th Global Off-Grid Solar Forum and Expo 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya

The BRILHO Programme, an initiative aimed at catalysing the development of the off-grid energy sector in Mozambique, is participating in the 8th Global Off-Grid Solar Forum and Expo, taking place from 8 to 10 October 2024 at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.

The event is recognised as one of the leading global forums dedicated to the off-grid solar energy sector, bringing together industry leaders, investors, financial institutions, governments, and international organisations to discuss the latest innovations, trends, and opportunities in the sustainable energy market.

As part of its commitment to universal access to clean and affordable energy in Mozambique, the BRILHO programme has supported the participation of four Mozambican companies: ARC Power, Epsilon, Uranus, and Dynamiss, providing them with the opportunity to present their innovative solutions during exclusive pitching sessions with international investors. These companies showcased their projects and sought strategic partnerships to expand their operations and increase their impact in the country.

“The support from the BRILHO programme allowed us to connect with global investors interested in supporting off-grid energy solutions in Africa, and we believe these interactions will boost the growth of our business in Mozambique,” said a representative from ARC Power.

BRILHO's support is part of a continuous effort to strengthen the off-grid energy ecosystem in Mozambique, facilitating access to finance and connecting local businesses with international investment opportunities. Renewable energy specialist for the BRILHO programme, highlighted the significance of these companies’ participation in the event: “We believe that the presence of Mozambican companies at the 8th Global Off-Grid Solar Forum will be crucial in fostering sector growth and attracting new investments to the country, enabling a transformation in energy access.”

BRILHO is a programme designed to catalyse the off-grid energy market in Mozambique by promoting and supporting business initiatives that deliver clean and affordable energy solutions in a competitive and sustainable manner. The programme is funded by the Governments of the United Kingdom and Sweden and is implemented by SNV in close collaboration with the Government of Mozambique.
