Introducing solar electric mobility in Mozambique

On 27 September, we celebrate the launch of Epsilon eMobility, an innovative business initiative co-financed by BRILHO, a programme funded by the Governments of the United Kingdom and Sweden and implemented by SNV.

The goal of this initiative is to redefine mobility in Mozambique by promoting greener transportation solutions. This innovative project not only aims to reduce carbon emissions but also to improve accessibility and the quality of life for thousands of people by creating clean and more efficient transport options, while creating jobs and income generation opportunities for the youth and low-income population.

This initiative, to be implemented in collaboration with the AMT (Agência Metropolitana de Maputo), will allow the introduction and operation of 150 EVs (including a mix of motorbikes and TukTuks) which will be served by 3 solar battery swap stations.

This is a solid and practical step in the right direction that brings us one step closer to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
